Human Resources Coordinator

Description

Mount Polley Mining Corporation (MPMC) is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Coordinator for immediate employment.  The work schedule will be four (4) 10- hour shifts of work, Tuesday – Friday followed by three (3) days of rest.  However, the incumbent must be flexible to work any shift structures assigned, weekends, overtime and off shift work.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Coordinator takes on a diverse array of administrative responsibilities, with a strong emphasis upon building relationships while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality, supports the Human Resources Department on daily activities, programs, projects and initiatives. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible to:

  • Focus on safe work and adhere to safety and environment rules and procedures.
  • Strong commitment to equity, reconciliation, diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to recruit top talent.
  • Lead the end-to end recruitment process for a wide range of union and exempt positions.
  • Create inclusive job postings, designing interview guides, implement testing methods, and track and report on recruitment information and data.
  • Forecast hiring needs and ensure recruitment process runs smoothly:  Job postings, pre-screens, interviews, rejection notices and offers of employment.
  • Provide professional administrative support to the HR Superintendent through proactive development and preparation of correspondence, presentations, and reports.
  • Support employee onboarding, ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, and track the flow of distribution of mail, telephone, and electronic information.
  • Develop and update job descriptions, HR manuals, and policies.
  • Implement training and development plans.
  • Stay up to date and comply with changes in labour legislation.
  • Monitor budgets by department.
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee files.
  • Type forms, letters, reports, and memos, as necessary.
  • Other Ad Hoc duties as required by the company.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, combined with experience as a recruiter.
  • Proven experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Familiarity with full cycle recruiting.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform maturely and professionally ensuring complete confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Team management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide array of personalities.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
